My 37 Birthday Wishes

I’m not going to wait for the candles (and there are many) to make my birthday wishes this year…

I wish for health for my whole family and that I don’t have to pack another bag for a hospital stay with Zackie.

I wish for sleep.

I wish for Ty to stop sucking his thumb and continue to love to read.
I wish for all days to be like Paris…for Paul to keep asking me out on dates, kiss me in the kitchen and send me sweet messages when he thinks of me.
I hope that I will have time to blog about all that I have been waiting to say (and find a way to make money at it!).
I wish that my wonderful parents enjoy their dream home at the lake when the retire this spring…they deserve it!
I wish that my best girlfriends know how much I love and appreciate them for listening, checking up on me, making me laugh, letting me vent, watching my sons or forgiving me for not calling them back right away.  You all make my days so much brighter.
I wish for more family time together and that taking a family trip was less complicated.

I wish that I start to care less about the mess and learn that “the more mess, the more fun you had!” (courtesy of Ty’s teacher last year in Kindergarten!).

I wish I could lose the bags and dark circles under my eyes, lose weight and get healthier for me, Paul and my boys.

I wish for my mom to always know that I couldn’t do this without her.

I wish that chocolate and wine would become “carb free”.

I wish that I could let Paul do more to help without having to do it “my way”.

I wish that As the World Turns was not going off the air (I need a new soap to pvr…any suggestions?).

I wish for the start of a “mmmmm” sound from Zackie…that will lead to him calling me “mommy”.  If that is all he ever says, it will be enough.
I wish that I can learn how to play Pokemon.
I wish for strength, patience, a sense of humour, courage and resilience to continue to be the best mommy I can be.
I wish that we find a wonderful preschool for Jayden and that he only throws up for a week during the transition.

I wish for more mani/pedis.

I wish for my dad to continue to be cancer-free.
I wish for days of making memories at the lake with my family; boat rides to get ice cream, sports on the grass, nature hikes, canoe rides and fishing on the dock.
I wish that I could have more showers alone  (or with Paul :-))
I wish to get more involved in the special needs community, continue to be inspired by other moms and finish the newsletter I started a year ago.

I wish to walk with Zack on one hand and Jayden on the other- anywhere…

I wish that Ty never stops choosing me to snuggle with at night.
I wish to wear stillettos and know what footwear is in style again.

I wish to learn to like green tea and drink more water.

I wish that tanning wasn’t so harmful for you.

I wish for my talented sister to know how proud I am of her for being a strong business woman, for balancing work and home and for offering to kick the ass of anyone who ever bothered me.

I wish the women on Zack’s Dream Team knew how much we appreciate all that they do for our family and how much their support and cheerleading has helped us get where we are.

I wish that my fabulous sweet neighbours know how much they help me be a better mom when they offer to push one of the boys on the swing, help a bike up the hill, loan me the car that Zackie loves for the sidewalk or pour me a glass of chardonnay after a crazy day!

I wish to learn sign language.

I wish that adoption was easier.

I wish for Paul to live his dreams, find his inspiration and know how much he is a amazing man.

I wish that my kitchen looked a bit less like a pharmacy or medical equipment store and more like a place where a mommy cooked.

I wish for as many years as possible to be a mother and wife.

37 wishes we have for you mommy…

    1. We wish you will never stop snuggling with us

    2. We wish you continue to make the best Kraft Dinner for us (don’t tell Nana)

    3. We wish you didn’t have to work as hard as you do to look after us

    4. We wish you are the first one to see Zacky walk by himself and realize he is doing it just for you

    5. We wish to discover a new star in the sky and name it after you

    6. We wish that one day all of your dreams will come true…you deserve it mommy

    7. We wish that when we get older and get married, that our girlfriends will be just like you…well, not exactly, but very close

    8. We wish that you can get a break and go away for a few days to get some rest… (plus when mommy is away it’s “our time, our rules”)

    9. We wish that you and daddy will love each other and stay married for ever…well, not forever because that is too long. Just for 100 years

    10. We wish that you realize how beautiful you are – not just today, but every day (daddy thinks you are super hot)

    11. We wish that people will forgive you as much as you have forgiven them (daddy told us to say this one)

    12. We wish that you feel safe, secure, and taken care of as much as you do that for all of us

    13. Although Zacky doesn’t say much right now, we wish that you know how much he loves and thanks you every day for being his CEO, Nurse, Doctor, Advocate, Cheerleader and biggest supporter. He has come this far because of your love and commitment (Zacky learned baby sign language really fast!)

    14. We wish that daddy gets you a new car that has a DVD player, more seats for our friends, comes with video games (or a place where I can plug in my DSi) and we get to use it to go on long family car rides

    15. We wish that you would spend more time with your girlfriends… (plus when mommy is away it’s “our time, our rules”)

    16. We wish you would laugh more and cry less

    17. We wish Jayden will give you more kisses and not as many bruises (just kidding Jaydepooh)

    18. We wish we were already at 37…I want to go downstairs and play Xbox 360

    19. We wish you will be there to always help us with our homework (actually, we wish you would just do our homework for us so we can play Xbox 360)

    20. We wish that you continue to be the best friend/neighbour that you are because we get to meet and play with your friends and their amazing kids

    21. We wish that you and daddy will put a pool in our backyard

    22. We wish that daddy would take you on your dream vacation and make you feel like a very special princess

    23. We wish you and daddy will take us to Great Wolf Lodge (this one is from me, Ty)

    24. We wish that Nana and Poppa will always love you and be your mommy and daddy…they are the best (plus Poppa is my fishing buddy)

    25. We wish that you will always be proud of us because it makes us feel good when you are

    26. We wish that you will one day write a book and tell the world what makes you an amazing mommy and lunch lady

    27. We wish that we don’t have to share you with anyone else

    28. We (I) wish you would give me more sou-sous

    29. We wish we don’t have to go on “time-outs” anymore

    30. We wish that we could make you as happy as you make us

    31. We wish that we could invite Anthony Wiggles over for dinner…we think that would make you happy

    32. We wish that when we graduate from university you will be there so you can be the first person we hug after we get our degrees

    34. We wish for more walks to the park and to the pond with you and daddy

    35. We wish for more Hamilton dance parties

    36. We wish that all the kids in the world could have a super mommy like you

    37. We wish that by this time next year, all your wishes come true (so we don’t have to do this list again)

We love you mommy soooo much! Thank you for everything and we hope we made you happy this year for your birthday!

    Ty, Jayden, Zacky & Daddy
