I believe in Miracles…
When my son Zack was rushed to the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, the night he was born, I was whisked into a world that was so unknown to me.
From the first night of terrible fear and the unknown, we were cared for by doctors and nurses with an unparallelled gentleness that could only be understood by professionals who see miracles happen each day.
Our son had the best team of Cardiologists and Intensivists who watched our tiny son overcome unbelievable obstacles for the first weeks of life. From life saving surgery at only 5lbs and 2 weeks old, to providing him with experts in neurology, neurosurgery, GI, dentistry, plastics and ENT- we have always turned to Sick Kids to provide care for our sweet Zack.
Even now at almost 3 years old, we continue to have monthly visits with several clinics at HSC. In fact, I’m not sure there are many clinics we haven’t visited at least once! When there is news of another test, another anesthetic or even another procedure, we turn to our friends at Sick Kids to provide us with another miracle. With each visit to our beloved Sick Kids, I look forward to the warm embrace we feel when we enter the building. Smiles from strangers, playtime with Therapeutic Clowns, familiar glances from our doctors, and the unexplainable warmth we receive from parents who are JUST LIKE US….watching their children live miracles each and every day.
Please support the DQ Miracle Treat Day on August 12th! Honour the children in your life who have overcome obstacles or celebrate your wonderful healthy children by enjoying a family treat today!
